of repeating gossip; and of revealing secrets— then you will be truly modest and find favor with every human being. Don’t be ashamed of these things, and don’t show favoritism so that you sin.
Repeat not the word which thou hast heard, and disclose not the thing that is secret; so shalt thou be truly without confusion, and shall find favour before all men: be not ashamed of any of these things, and accept no person to sin thereby:
These are times when it is proper for you to be ashamed, and people will respect you for it. On the other hand, it is possible to sin by giving in to other people too much. Here are some things you should not be ashamed of:
Of repeating what you hear, of betraying any secret. Be ashamed of the right things, and you will find favor in the sight of all. But of these things do not be ashamed, lest you sin to save face:
